Pen Pal Program

After discovering the AFAK foundation based in Morocco, my friend and I decided to take action by connecting the middle schoolers (6th-8th graders) from our high school (Riverdale Country School) with peers at the AFAK foundation's Dar Atlas school. Through Zoom sessions and letter writing, these students have an opportunity to build relationships, share stories, and teach each other their native languages, Arabic and English. We started this project towards the end of Sophomore year and together are recognized as the leaders of the activity.
